Lacquered African Mahogany finish

Three ply shell ((African) mahogany, poplar, mahogany) w/Maple reinforcing rings.

Missing the top/batter head.

Eight 'center' Bow Tie lugs, nickel plated brass rims, all parts are nickel plated.

Bottom head; original Ludwig calf skin, intact/perfect condition.

Factory designation; 17 for 17" diameter.

Date stamp (faded red ink) Aug. 6, 1957.

Original (faded black ink) Ludwig 'calf skin' logo.

Engraved inventory number on the top/batter rim just above the Keystone badge.

This is a rare drum. As a Tenor, it was not fitter for; snare strainer, butt piece or tone control.

No extra holes, the shell is 'in round' and easily fits modern drum heads.

The original lacquer finish has some 'checking' and superficial scratches.

This drum would be an excellent addition to a collection or, conversion to a bass drum.
